Since 1997 CRIC has been working in the field of early childhood education in Gaza Strip. During the last four years CRIC mainly concentrated its activity on the psychosocial aspect in early childhood education, following the intensification of the conflict which caused many social and behavioural disorders among children, as well as in their families.

Closing Ceremony
Psychosocial support to preschool aged children and their caregivers in Gaza Strip.
Who: The European Commission Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO)
C.R.I.C., an Ngo working in Palestine since 1992.
When: Tuesday 18 August 2009 at 11:30 am
Where: Al Mat'haf - Recreational e cultural house (Beach Str., Sodinya Area)
Why:

Closure of Gaza children support project.
Main activities:

  • 25 Kindergartens, by improving their environment and work, providing didactic material, stationery, toys, building maintenance.
  • 4500 children, enhancing their resilience capacity.
  • 150 teachers and 100 community volunteers, developing their skills on psychosocial approach to children and families.
  • 25 summer camps
  • 25 cultural and recreational trips
  • 200 visits to the families, helping them coping with post-war trauma.

The ceremony will be attended by a group of 250 children together with kindergartens's directors, teachers and community volunteers.
