Teacher Network

The Palestinian national labour legislation does not recognize the professional role of kindergarten teacher, in fact, even if there is a clear legislation protecting primary school teachers through a collective agreement, the same does not apply to KGs teachers. Furthermore, the society is not aware about the important role played by KGs teachers in the child development, and does not consider such job as prestigious.
But, teachers are the main actors in the educative development of preschool aged children, but, as described above they must be recognized in the important role that they carry out. Self awareness must be a basic condition to build and promote one's own professionalism.

CRIC identified the professional category of kindergartens' teachers as a “resource group” for the promotion of active education in early childhood sector in Gaza Strip. Because of this we dedicated a particular attention to them.

Exchange of experiences is always a rich source of useful information and a way to learn, especially when discussions take place between people that work in the same sector.
Discussions groups that share working experiences and other working conditions should be a powerful tool to strengthen the single person. An important goal of the network, in fact, is the identification of common problems, opportunities and possible solutions, subject of interest to be discussed, resources to be shared.

The directors of the involved KGs meet periodically within the teacher network. A network in the North and one in the South have been set up since the beginning of the project. The purpose of this activity is to promote a network where teachers and directors can share their experience supporting to each other. During these meetings, the directors, with the support of the Educative Advisors working in the project, are organizing workshops about the realization of educative tools, games and stories for children, using recycled materials.

Further workshops concerning the importance of art and creativity and corner system methodology has been organized.
